The London Cycling Awards 2016 were recently hosted by Spin London cycling festival at the trendy Truman Brewery off Brick Lane.
The awards were opened by Ann Kenrick, Chair of London Cycling Campaign, who has managed to achieve a lot for London cycling over the last few years. Cycle journeys in London have now reached around 20% of tube usage and the recently opened superhighways are encouraging more and more Londoners and visitors to take to their bikes.
The London Cycling Awards 2016 were presented by film star, comedian and ex-cycle courier Michael Smiley, whose most memorable line was that his bike was his “psychiatrist between his legs“.
Here’s the longer version - “The endorphins cycling gave me made me realise that I could do stuff with my life, that things were attainable. Cycling gives you all this positive energy, you never get off a bicycle depressed“.

Mr Smiley rattled through the nominees, including Litelok, with great energy and humour. And the winners are…
